New Name, New Blog

We are not pulling a "The Musician Formally Known As Prince" name change on you - Lucy formally known as Iris is just not the same and I will most certainly not be monograming her towels with crazy purple gender symbols! If you don't get this reference you may have missed school years in the 80's - which may be a blessing! But you can always google it.

I know, I loved the name Iris too but she already has a beautiful Chinese name - Lu Jie which we always intended to use but now that we know she is 14 months old and knows her name, we want to call her what she is familiar with. Ends up that when we started this process years ago the boys, my mother and my sister called her Lucy Lu and here we are four years later and it ends up that that is her name! So now she will be Lucy and Lujie will be part of her middle name along with a family name ( those of you who know me, just add my middle name.) It's a lot of name for a little girl but just look at that cute face, I think she will carry it just fine.

We are still waiting on TA's and crossing fingers that they will get in Monday or Tuesday. If they do we will travel on the 9th. If they don't get in until later next week then we are looking at September 16. Our sweet friends threw us a Travel Shower last night where we received lots of cool gifts from international converters, book downloads for my ipod, a digital thermometer and a truck load of hand sanitizer so we all will stay well! Our Visas are in route, we are purchasing and packing (kind of) we just need our TA so we can go meet Lucy!!
